I hate you, like I love you… Tere pyaar ne kar diya deewana… That’s how the new item song from Delhi Belly goes. And, it’s Aamir Khan who’s shaking a leg to it! So how does it feel to be an item boy? “Great!” the actor laughs. “It’s time for the item girls to pack up their bags because the item boys are here to stay and give them a run for their money.”

The Hindu : Arts / Cinema : B for Bbuddah? Not him!

You've got to hand it to him. Amitabh Bachchan has a knack of grabbing you by your neck and making you notice whatever he does. Currently the via media is his film Bbuddah Hoga Terra Baap (BHTB) releasing on July 1. Co-produced by AB Corp and Viacom 18 under the direction of Puri Jagannadh, this can be added to the list of films written specially for him such as Paa, Cheeni Kum, Nishabd and Sarkar. “You give me more credit than I deserve. I'm happy that some roles come my way. I do not demand that something special be written for me. I just listen to the offers and decide what to do with them,” says the veteran.

Emraan, Mallika to reunite in 'Murder 3'? - Indian Express

Katrina Kaif Is The New Dhoom Girl

It is confirmed that Katrina Kaif is the next Dhoom girl. Deepika Padukone and Priyanka Chopra were also in the running for the role but it was Kat who bagged the project.

She will star opposite Aamir Khan in this Yash Raj banner's next to be directed by Vijay Krishna Acharya.

Esha Deol, Aishwarya Rai and Bipasha Basu went through a complete make over and wowed the audience with their super hot bods and bikini look in the earlier editions of the movie.

It is to be seen now whether Aditya Chopra can convince Katrina to let go of her inhibitions and don a bikini in this one.

A source informs, "Katrina will have a sexy makeover for the film, as per the tradition, a Dhoom girl is supposed to look extremely sensous. Though she has great body but for this film she will have to undergo special training and tone up a bit more."

The model-turned-actress seems to have become the latest blue-eyed girl of the Yash Raj Films. Dhoom 3 will be her fifth film with the banner.

The actress has just wrapped-up Mere Brother Ki Dulhan and is soon to start shooting for Kabir Khan's Ek Tha Tiger with Salman Khan. She is also doing Yash Chopra's next with Shah Rukh Khan.

As of now, barring Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara, Katrina is only doing films with YRF.

Fry your mind (again)

The original idiot is back! This Friday saw the release of Bheja Fry 2 and its stars were in New Delhi as part of a whirlwind tour to promote the film. Vinay Pathak and Minissha Lamba lead a cast that includes Kay Kay Menon and Amol Gupte in supporting roles. Directed by Sagar Ballary, it takes off from the original Bheja Fry that released in 2007 and was inspired by the French movie- Le Diner de Cons. The essential premise of Bheja Fry was a group of idle rich men who invite one idiot to each of their parties in order to be able to ridicule him later. Vinay Pathak had essayed the role of the dim witted yet affable special invitee, Bharat Bhushan.

The film proved to be a sleeper hit and enabled its director to return with a sequel that boasts of a fatter budget and wider canvas. Set in Malaysia, the role of Bharat Bhushan has been reprised and a dose of romance injected in the form of Minissha Lamba. Pathak gave a sneak preview of the film by saying, “Bheja Fry 2 sees the return of the good-hearted but not worldly-wise, rolly-polly tax inspector Bharat Bhushan (played by me). The character is back to fulfil his long cherished dream of becoming a singer. To further his ambition he enters a game show hoping to win the top prize with which he can make his own music album. Eventually Bhushan goes on to win the competition which also gifts him a free stay on a cruise ship.” This is the site for a motley crew of characters (that includes an acrid tongue sadistic business tycoon, a senior functionary from the Income Tax department and a giggly media professional) to come together in “an intrepid caper”.

Pathak described the sequel in generalities by saying, “It's a fresh presentation with a new ensemble cast and dynamic treatment.” Asked about how his character had progressed from the original he said, “Bharat Bhushan retains the endearing naïveté of Bheja Fry. It's just that his playground is bigger now and there are plenty more elements to play off.”

When questioned about her role, Minissha Lambs who plays Pathak's love interest in the film smiled coyly and said, “Oh! My part was easy. I just had to laugh at his jokes.”

The bigger question is will the audience be laughing? The coming days will bear out whether Bheja Fry 2 will free your mind.

Foreign actors try their hand in Bollywood

AFP - Many foreign tourists return home from India with tales of how they were recruited as Bollywood extras from the bustling bars and busy streets of Colaba Causeway in south Mumbai.

But a growing number of overseas actors are now looking for something more than just a walk-on part in the popular Hindi-language film industry.

One of them is Alexx (eds: correct) O'Nell, a 30-year-old from Connecticut on the US east coast, who studied theatre in his home country before the marketing firm he worked for transferred him to India's entertainment capital.

That was seven years ago. Since then he's appeared in a number of South Indian language and Bollywood films, including the 2007 comedy "Loins of Punjab Presents", a satire on expat Indians set in Mumbai and New Jersey.

He is currently working on a new project, "Joker", with action hero star Akshay Kumar, which is in production and is due out later this year.

For O'Nell -- who's been a model, appeared on Indian television and married an Indian actress -- forging a career in Bollywood has been easier than trying to make his name in Hollywood, even if he always gets to play the foreigner.

"As an Indian, I'd be competing with the best of the best, with everyone in the entire country who wants to be in Indian films," he told AFP at his home in the Mumbai suburbs.

"If I was in Hollywood, I'd be competing with every American, the best of the best, who wants to be in Hollywood films. So the difference here is, yes, I'm competing for fewer roles with fewer people but in the end it works out."

O'Nell, though, is a rarity. Firstly, he's been successful and secondly, he's a man.

More women have come to India to seek a starring role and many studios regularly use foreign dancers for the set-piece song-and-dance routines that are Bollywood's trademark.

Many seek to emulate the success of Katrina Kaif, the Hong Kong-born, London-raised former model, who has become a Bollywood A-lister and one of the most-searched-for Indian film stars on the Internet.

Other successful imports include the Mexican model and former television presenter Barbara Mori, who starred alongside Hrithik Roshan in last year's "Kites".

The Brazilian model Giselli Monteiro also won plaudits for her role in "Love Aaj Kal" (Love Today Tomorrow) in 2009. Her second film, "Always Kabhi Kabhi", produced by the superstar actor Shah Rukh Khan, is out on June 17.

Among those breaking through are Tania Zaetta (Australia), Kalki Koechlin (France) and Preeti Desai (Britain).

Proficiency in Hindi is essential for anyone looking to make their mark. Kaif's dialogue had to be dubbed in her early films but now she voices her own parts.

"The diction is very important when you say dialogues and it is a must for all these heroines who come from abroad to get it right," said Vidha Chibber, a Hindi tutor who taught Monteiro for "Love Aaj Kal".

Chibber is also teaching Nargis Fakhri, a US model of Pakistani and Czech descent, who will soon be seen alongside Ranbir Kapoor in "Rockstar".

For Meenakshi Shedde, a film critic and film festival consultant, Bollywood's increasing use of foreign talent is a natural progression, as the industry widens its horizons in search of new markets and revenue.

"Indian cinema and Bollywood have been of interest to the world for a century now but I think there's much greater interest in the last 10 years or so," she said.

"All the Hollywood major studios have been here for the better part of a century. It's not like they haven't realised that India is a big market but their strategy is much more aggressive now.

"So, you find lots more Hollywood films being made in India as Indian productions. Therefore the stars follow."

Film director Anurag Kashyap, who is married to Kalki Koechlin, said foreigners bring a fresh perspective in front of and behind the camera, particularly at a time when the industry needs new ideas."

"All the foreigners bring a point of view and sensibility," said Kashyap, best known for his 2004 film "Black Friday", about the 1993 bomb blasts in Mumbai that killed more than 250 people.

"A person involved from outside brings an objectivity with them and that makes you see things in a much broader way."

For O'Nell, there's an extra incentive that you don't get in your own country.

"It's such a colourful array of different industries all within one and that makes it unique. That makes it very, very interesting and even more diverse, I feel, than Hollywood cinema," he said.

Salman's Cricket League Saga: Sonakshi Steals Shriya's Thunder!

Sonakshi Sinha would like to establish a super stronghold over Salman Khan. And if earlier B'Townies such as Katrina Kaif and Zareen Khan did have a great equation with Khan, Sonakshi would like to have a greater equation with him. Or more appropriately, a sole and if possible, the greatest equation with him.

Any other entity whom Khan favours... meets with swift ire from Sonakshi.

Case in point: Shriya Saran.

Shriya, who boasts of a phenomenal fan following in the South, was appointed as the brand ambassador of a cricket league team headed by Khan, Sohail Khan and South star Venkatesh. A move that Sonakshi, clearly, didn't take too kindly to.

Word has it that Shriya was all set to perform a scintillating number at the finals, until Sonakshi decided to ruin matters for her.

States a close source, "Sonakshi was seated at the dug out of the Chennai team, when it was announced that Shriya would be performing. Precisely at that point, Sonakshi decided to take a stroll along the sidelines and waive at the audience. They clapped and cheered and that took away attention from Shriya's performance. Once Shriya's performance was over Sonakshi left instantly, and the audience was looking out for her."

Adds the insider significantly, "Initially, Shriya was too reluctant to pose for the cameras, but once Sonakshi left, she herself came to the Chennai dug out and posed for the cameras."
